Wasting my time... well, WD has stopped support for their WDBackup software that I've used for years. They recommended their Acronis True Image for WD, so I deleted my backup files from the MyBook drive, and ran the ATI program... or tried to. Hung on computing time remaining, and after f'in with that and trying to correct VSS and reinstalling, still no luck. Oh and there is NO SPP service in Win 11 that they recommend fixing. Sooooo, I tried to install and run EaseUS backup software, with the same problem... I then called WD and they recommended using Windows backup... FAIL again, even after posts recommended to turn off the Windows firewall. Right now I', running a SFC and defrag on the backup drive, but it seems to work fine.
Ideas? I'm ready to go back to the old unsupported WDBackup software, but it seems like this is something I should fix before leaving it behind.
Update: I found the SPP service (Software Protection...) and enabled it but the Win backup still won't run without error
