I use to know exactly how to go through the steps in Windows 10 to enable auto logon and never had any issues.
I am aware that a few steps were added/changed since Windows 11 came out and I have followed multiple methods posted all over the internet to no success.

Now every time I complete the steps which ends with me using netplwiz to uncheck the box that dictates' all user must enter a password upon logon... after the pc restarts and loads windows at the screen asking for my user pin there are now TWO users listed..... an unknown user which seems to take precedence over me as that user is the highlighted one and I have to click my username which is directly below his user name and then it allows me to enter my pin so I can enter windows 11.

Anyone know what I should do?

To get rid of the duplicate user, you first must turn auto login off.
Open Netplwiz, check the box that users must enter a username and password-Ok and restart the computer. The duplicate user name should now be gone.
Then set up auto login again.
Open Netplwiz, uncheck the box that users must enter a user name and password. Select your user name from the list. Enter your password. Confirm your password. OK. Restart again and it should auto login to your account.

Note that you will have the "duplicate user names" issue again if you change your password or rename your PC while auto-login is enabled.

If it's asking for a PIN maybe you should remove this option in Settings - sign-in options to leave just a password needed?

No need to remove it if you provide the user password you can still log on to Windows 11 even if you set the PIN on your account.

I have the same issue and i tried #3 tip from this thread. Although it dies not fix the problem. I tried to enable/disable autologon from regedit and from autologon script from microsoft. Still did not get fixed.. Something more to suggest?
To get rid of the duplicate user, you first must turn auto login off.
Open Netplwiz, check the box that users must enter a username and password-Ok and restart the computer. The duplicate user name should now be gone.
Then set up auto login again.
Open Netplwiz, uncheck the box that users must enter a user name and password. Select your user name from the list. Enter your password. Confirm your password. OK. Restart again and it should auto login to your account.

Note that you will have the "duplicate user names" issue again if you change your password or rename your PC while auto-login is enabled.

1 Did you get as far as disabling the auto-login in NetPlWiz*** so that you are forced to do a manual login when starting the computer?
2 Did you then get as far as setting the auto-login up in NetPlWiz*** again?
3 What happens when you then start the computer? [a photo of your display might well help to avoid ambiguity in your reply to this point]

it will not work correct unless when you set the login info correct. If your sure you did then there is no reason it shouldnt work. Considering the Autologin is from Microsoft themselves

This is the correct method. OP has not been back or posted anywhere else since this thread was opened.

This may be irrelevant to this, but NETPLWIZ will not offer the "un-check" box unless this setting is OFF.

All the best,

I did all the steps and still nothing...

it will not work correct unless when you set the login info correct. If your sure you did then there is no reason it shouldnt work. Considering the Autologin is from Microsoft themselves
I tried to change my password and redo the process all over again. Still not working.. I sign in with my microsoft account so this password unlocks my pc. This is the right password, right?

Today, I will demonstrate the automatic Login to Windows without selecting the user account and entering the password with this coded batch script. This method works for both local user account and Microsoft account.

Your diagram shows what you would get if you had put the wrong password in NetPlWiz for the user account selected in NetPlWiz.
