Can't install ExplorerPatcher - MS Defender prevents me - help

Win11 won't let me install ExplorerPatcher. I get a pop up saying:

"Windows protected your PC
Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running this app might put your PC at risk."

But when I disable real time protection and try to install again, I get the same warning. How do I fix this?

So you’re saying that after that (probably a Terminal window) closes, the file is still blocked?
Does your user profile have admin privileges?

Doesn't defendercontrol or Defenderui offer the ability to pause Win defender or am I on a different tangent, which is not unusual😊
ExcTool will add a folder or file to the exclusion list
