Solved Can't move software window on screen

Hi 🙏

Something happened to one of my monitors. At the moment, any software I had close to the top of the screen (full window or otherwise) has moved past the top of the screen to the point I cant access the menu bar, close/minimize icons or grab the top and move it to another location.
I have tried resetting the auto function and input buttons on the monitor itself to no avail.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

There are a lot of keyboard shortcuts for moving or resizing program windows, look at the 'Windows logo key' section here, in particular combining it with the arrow keys, with or without the Shift, Ctrl, or Alt keys.

The question is, does the desktop extend beyond the top of the monitor too? If you move the mouse cursor to the top of the screen, does it stop at the edge of the monitor? If it caries on and disappears off the top, the so does the desktop. Your monitor isn't displaying the whole of it.

Try changing the Desktop resolution to something a bit smaller, then back to how you want it. Maybe the current settings have got corrupted somehow, that may reset them.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

I think it's something to do with my monitor array, because this isn't the first time this has happened. Thanks @Bree

I also believe this odd monitor (The one far left) which is not the same as the other 4, is on it's last legs.

Yes thank you, Wynona. When I grouped it I was able to resize it. Only took a minute to turn the setting back on and group two apps to achieve access to the title bar. It was a great suggestion. Thanks again!

It was just another of my WAGs that suddenly kick me in the head. I had recently been playing with those things so they popped into the empty space in my brain. :p
