I use Google Contacts for my records. When I click an email address, a new email opens in Gmail even though my Windows default MAILTO is set for eMclient. Is there any way to force this to use eMclient?

"I use Google Contacts for my records. When I click an email address" - Does this mean that you are clicking on a Contact within Gmail? If so then it is not surprising that a new email opens in Gmail.

If you want to create a new email to open in eM Client then first launch em Client and select your email contact from within eM client.

The MAILTO setting only comes into action when selecting a file/photo/document that you want to send as an attachment in an email using eM Client as long as your .eml default app is set to use 'eM Client'?

I use Thunderbird email client so where I see Thunderbird you should see eM Client. Are you seeing this in following locations: -

Thanks wiganken. My defaults are all set to eMclient. You say to choose a contact from eMclient. Do you mean not to choose one from Google Contacts. GC is the only database of contacts that I use. I don't really want to setup contacts in eMclient because that would mean having to service 2 databases.

Doesn't eM Client allow you to set up your Gmail account within eM Client? That is the purpose of an email client and your Gmail contacts should be importable into it (if they are not automatically imported). This means that you do not use your Google Contacts. You use those same Gmail contacts but they are now imported into eM Client and they should synchronize so no need to 'service 2 databases'.

Google won't allow you to open a Contact in another client from within a Google page, they want you to use their services.
You'll have to import your contacts into eMClient or, put all your contacts in a spreadsheet, or sumpthin.

I have never used contacts within eMclient but I shall have a play and see if they will sync. Thanks for the advice.
