I have been using CRD successfully for over a year with my initiating computer W7 and the connected laptop W11. Smooth as could be and allows me to access my work laptop from my main PC comfy environment with large monitor. Well, I finally got a new PC to replace W7 (better late than never, right?). Just started using it for work this week. Now when connected, the laptop has short episodes of freezing -- 10 to 30 seconds. This is not only annoying but unacceptable if I am sharing my screen on a zoom with my boss like today!!! Ugh. When I say freezing, the cursor is available to me to move around, but it won't do anything. keystrokes and clicks are executed when desktop re-enagages. Lots of type-ahead errors and bad clicks can occur.
- I saw a tip about increasing the priority of the remoting* tasks on the host laptop. That didn't do anything.
- Was considering rebooting both PC and laptop. Because as the week has progressed, the frequency has increased. Clearing out cobwebs sometimes helps (fond memories of windows in the 90s).
- Other ideas of things to try? (not a complete novice, but not high tech either)
- go back to W7? LOL
