Chromebook query

Hi Guys
I have an HP laptop and a Chromebook and have used them for years, including reformatting and restoring.
Because I wanted to change my login password on the Chromebook, I did a search on Google and the suggestions by many was to change my Google password which I think I managed. I then thought it would be a good time to do a Power Wash and was told to press ctrl-alt-shift and R but nothing happened.

In short, my password has not changed but my desktop has, so I would like to start again to set it up, would be grateful for advice.

Are you asking about the desktop layout on your Chromebook?

Yes, my Chomebook, I was not sure the home screen is called the desktop, but hopefully you know what i mean
