CLOCK WATCHDOG TIMEOUT (AGAIN!!)

Hi zbook,

I replaced GPU with a new AMD radeon RX 6500 XT and installed the latest driver for this.
The pc ran normally for half an hour and than crashed.

Stop code is: SYSTEM_SCAN_AT_RAISED_IRQL_CAUGHT_IMPROPER_DRIVER_UNLOAD
What failed: AgileVpn.sys

This is the minidump file and V2 log:

The log displayed the use of WDV.
There were no comments on the use of WDV in the above post.

Were there BSOD with just the replacement of the Nvidia GPU card with the AMD GPU card?

How come WDV was started?

There were no misbehaving non-Windows drivers seen in the mini dump file.

Open administrative command prompt and copy and paste:

PowerShell $D=(New-Object -ComObject Wscript.Shell).SpecialFolders(4);Compress-Archive "%WinDir%\MEMORY.DMP" "$D\Memory_dmp"

Post a share link into this thread.

Please boot into safe mode > shift + restart > turn off WDV using administrative command prompt: verifier /reset

I don't know, what is WDV?.... I was just browsing the web via microsoft edge and received the error. Yes, it happened after replacing the GPU card. I did nothing special.

The log displayed the use of Windows Driver Verifier (WDV).

In order to use the tool it is manually launched and customized.

At this time please turn off WDV following the steps in the earlier post.

Monitor the computer for BSOD and / or unexpected shutdowns and restarts using:

When available please post a share link that only has the compressed memory dump from the earlier post.

Oh, I did open verifier, trying to find of there is something wrong with the new GPU. Sorry I forgot.

(In another thread in Microsoft community, sb told me to use verifier to let my pc crash 3times to see the root of the problem.)

This is the link for memory dmp:

And just now, i got another BSOD.

Here is the minidump file and V2 log:
Does this also have something to do with verifier?

If my pc is working right in the next few days, does it indicate my Nvidia GPU doesn't work? If so, which part is most likely broken?
Thank you!

verifier /querysettings

The logs so far have displayed BSOD with nvlddmkm and no BSOD with the newly installed AMD GPU card drivers.

We're checking for malfunctioning hardware now.

Windows was not updated after the clean install and all of the drivers from the motherboard website were not yet installed.
So no significant benefit in using WDV at this time.
Monitor the computer for the next few days for spontaneous BSOD or unexpected shutdowns and restarts.

If there are no BSOD caused by AMD drivers then we're on the right path (malfunctioning Nvidia GPU card)
If there are BSOD or unexpected shutdowns and restarts with a second GPU card then there may be a motherboard problem.
None of the recent BSOD displayed clock watchdog timeout.

My pc runs normally for several days since I installed a version of GPU driver. But there are BSOD these days now.

This is the link for minidump files and V2 log:

This is the link for memory dump file:

Can you check them for me and figure out if it's still the GPU issue?

Hi Qian Wang ,

Please post a new V2 share link.

And search for C:\windows\memory.dmp

If the memory dump file size is < 2.5 GB then save to the downloads folder then ZIP and post a share link into this thread using one drive, drop box, or google drive.

Some of the latest mini dump bugchecks collected by V2 were related to malfunctioning hardware: CPU

9C
101
124

The event viewer files also reported problems related to malfunctioning hardware: Live Kernel event bugcheck WHEA 124

The memory dump zipped file was not able to be opened.

Earlier in the thread Prime95 and OCCT did not report problems during the stress tests.

This unfortunately is common with software stress tests.

Please swap test the CPU.

It's weird. What could be the cause for this CPU issue? Do I need to run the testing in Prime95 or OCCT?

I reupload the memory file:

Bugcheck 101 is typically a malfunctioning CPU.
The Nvidia issues once fixed exposed the bigger problem.
All of the event viewer entries now are reporting malfunctioning hardware.

The software stress tests did not find problems.

Please swap test the CPU.

The bugchecks 101, 9C and 124 are all created when there is malfunctioning CPU.

It's highly likely a CPU problem.

If it were 100% then replace the CPU.

There is a small chance that there is a motherboard problem as there were GPU problems.

If the computer is stable with another CPU then this confirms a malfunctioning CPU.

If there are still problems then by the process of elimination swap test the motherboard.

See if you can find a friend, neighbor, relative, or local computer store to swap test the CPU.

If the CPU is under warranty then contact Intel.

You're welcome.

If necessary, contact Amazon and other retailers regarding purchase costs and return policies.

Please follow up.

But I have ran tuneup (find out the below link).
Dear Qian Wang, your last name stands for a very common Chinese family name. Are you Chinese? If so, are you running a Chinese version of Windows? I have asked the questions because I have never run "Tuneup_plus_log.bat" on Chinese Windows.

BTW, the past participle of "run" is "run" rather than "ran".
