Solved Computer connecting to Microsoft Sharepoint

Thank you for your consideration of my confusion!

Using Glasswire i notice that my computer keeps connecting to Microsoft Sharepoint.

Is this a necessary exchange of information?

What are the implications of blocking the connection?

I've looked at a number of short articles regarding Sharepoint, but i can not find anything that sinks through my skull as to if i want it functioning or not.

I do use Onedrive on a rather limited basis to share a spreadsheet and the same is used by another location to share a couple spreadsheets (Excel) with me. That's about all the external sharing i do, other than an occasional Dropbox.

Hello Bruce,
Sharepoint is usually included with older office versions.
Now with MS pushing Onedrive for home, I think Sharepoint is more for corporate use.
There would be no harm in preventing the connection.
Besides, you would know what to do if you get an error related to it.

Too many times i have tweaked items on my own and later regretted it - especially when i think i am bright enough to tweak more than one at a time, which i know is real dumb!

Trial and error, or, in my instance, trial by fire...

I'm also somewhat disturbed at how often MS Edge pops up in Glasswire as i usually use Firefox, but occasionally have to run Edge when something fails to load properly in FF-

This is because web files (html,htm and others) are by default set to open in edge.
This can be changed by going:
Settings/Apps/Default apps /
Look for Microsoft Edge, change those that use Edge to your preferred browser.
