Solved Context Menu Customization

is it possible without an external program to change the context menu colors? for example, make the context menu background light grey, the font color black, and the highlighted text navy blue?

Natively, not that I am aware of. Have you tried dark mode. It's context menu is a slightly lighter gray than the dark background. However, the properties window will always be in white.

ive been using the dark theme that gives the context menu a blackish grey. it looks nice but im looking for that windows 95/98 light grey. i dont understand why windows gradually stripped GUI customization out with each release after Vista. even 7 took out the option to use the original start menu, but at least kept the taskbar able to be changed back to have the original "Start" button and light grey. then 8 took that away too. i hope windows adds more gui customizations for colors besides the accent color.
