Context Menus Jumping to Wrong Monitor

I have a pretty typical dual monitor setup. They are assigned as display #1 (my primary monitor on the bottom) and display #2 (my top monitor) in Windows 11. And Windows is set to extend them.

I've noticed that when some apps or Windows folders sit too close to the edge of monitor #1, and I click a fly-out or right click context menu, it will instead jump up to the top screen (instead of next to the icon/app where it's located on the primary/bottom monitor). I've read that others have this issue when using different scaling for each monitor, but that's not the case for me.

This is supremely annoying and I'd like it to always keep everything on the monitor I'm working from.

How can I ensure everything I click/open stays on the bottom/primary screen from which it was clicked, and not cross that border over onto the other monitor? This definitely is a new issue on Windows 11 (as I've had the same setup for years, and Windows 10 behaved properly).

One would expect the context menu to show across two monitors if it is opened and the sub menu selection is too close to monitor 2?
If it didn’t allow that and I wanted to open an image or something across two screens, it wouldn’t work. To me it’s logical.

The width of some of the sub-menus you’re showing in that screen are too wide. The main context menu isn’t going to jump across to the left a little to compensate. That would be even more annoying IMO.

However, I can’t say why some open to the left and others to the right. Are the ones opening to the right, context sub menus you have created? @Edwin?

Explorer reverses itself when it's too close to a screen edge...

Nope, standard ShareX menus.

I don’t have “Recent Links” in my context menu, I either haven’t added it or I removed it.

Thing is: the sub-menu flyouts shouldn't be detaching themselves, as they do in the gif!
When I move the ShareX systray icon over a bit, it's okay...

I just removed it, it's useless!
Bout as useful as a Recommended section in the Start Menu!!!

@Edwin - Wow, is that a gif of the same menu, bouncing back and fourth between the edge of one monitor and onto the other, then back again? Yeesh, and I thought I had a problem lol

So it looks as we've established this issue in sound principal in Windows 11, problem is...what's the solution? Must be some way to get it to behave as Windows 10 did. Or at least make it "smart" enough to respect the edge of the screen (as if the second monitor wasn't there).

I'm sure if we all unplugged our second monitors and clicked into these menus (even if the icons are right up against the edge of the screen), it would load on the correct side where the free space is. We just need to get it to do that, regardless of whether or not it sees the other monitor.

I noticed the context menus shown in this thread are in the "classic" context menu format as Win 10 had. I switched my Win 11 to the classic menu also but since doing so, I experienced untamed context menus also. I switched back to the original Win 11 context menu by undoing the registry hack and the context menus started working as expected. Choose your poison. Context menus behaving wildly or the crappy Win 11 "modern" look. I personally don't hate the Windows developers for not helping those of us that hack the registry, but it would be greatly appreciated if they would place an option in Settings/Personalization to "Use Classic Context Menus". That would really class Win 11 up a lot.
