Browsers and Mail Create AI Generated Theme for Microsoft Edge in Windows 11

This tutorial will show you how to use AI Theme Generator to create a custom AI generated theme for Microsoft Edge in Windows 10 and Windows 11.

You can personalize your Microsoft Edge browser with unique AI-generated themes.

Browser themes in Edge change the look and feel of your browser and the new tab page. When you apply a new theme, you'll notice the color of your browser frame change as well as the image on your new tab page. Themes in Edge work with both horizontal and vertical tabs.

Images are generated through Microsoft Designer, DALL·E 3.0, and Microsoft Edge. DALL·E 3.0 is a new AI system that creates realistic images and art from a text description. As DALL·E 3.0 is a new system, it may create things you didn't expect. If you find a creation to be unexpected or offensive, send Microsoft Designer feedback so Microsoft can make it better.

Here's How:

1 Open Microsoft Edge.

2 Sign in to Microsoft Edge with your personal Microsoft account if not already.

You must be signed in to Microsoft Edge with a personal Microsoft account as Microsoft uses the signed-in account for browser theme generation. This experience is powered by Microsoft Designer.

3 Click/tap on the Setting and more (Alt+F) 3 dots button, and click/tap on Settings. (see screenshot below)


4 Click/tap on Appearance in the left pane, and click/tap on AI Theme Generator in the right pane. (see screenshot below)

If you do not see a left pane, then either click/tap on the 3 bars menu button towards the top left OR widen the horizontal borders of the Microsoft Edge window until you do.

5 Perform an action below you want to use to describe the theme you would like to create: (see screenshot below)

• Type a description of the theme you want in the prompt, and click/tap on Create theme.
• Click/tap on Surprise me until an automatic theme description you like is in the prompt, and click/tap on Create theme.
• Scroll through prompt templates at the bottom until you see one you like, hover over the template, click/tap on Modify prompt, and click/tap on Create theme.
  
  

  You can also click/tap on Apply theme for a prompt template you want as a theme, and go to step 9.

6 The AI will now generate your custom theme. (see screenshot below)


7 If wanted, you can select an available or custom theme color. (see screenshot below)


8 Perform an action you want below: (see screenshot below)

• If you want to apply this theme, click/tap on Apply theme.
• If you don't like this theme, click/tap on the Create another theme link at the bottom to start over at step 5.

The Share option currently doesn't work.

When Share does work, you can easily share your custom theme with friends on social media! Pick from the featured platforms (like Facebook, X, and LinkedIn) to share and let others enjoy your theme or inspire their own creations. You can also copy the link or download the image directly from the page.

9 Click/tap on Apply to confirm. (see screenshot below)


10 Click/tap on View theme to see the theme on the New Tab page. (see screenshots below)

If wanted, you can click/tap on Undo at the top of the "AI Theme Generator" page while still open to undo the theme change.

You will always be able to change or restore the default theme for Edge at any time.
