Currently paused on 23H2. Should I upgrade to 24H2 now before 25H2 arrives?

Windows 11 Home 24H2
I currently use grc.com InControl to keep Windows on 23H2.

I read that updates for 23H2 ends in November 11 2025 so I'm wondering what to do next.

Dell Update for my G5 15 says everything is up to date, and I've read that when updating to 24H2 it is best to have all the latest drivers.

But Ucheck update manager says there is a major update for Nvidia Graphics driver so I'm wondering if I should try and update the graphics driver directly from Nvidias' website or leave it as it is?

Make an image backup of current installation and then simply upgrade to 24H2 via Windows Update.

24H2 has all the features of 25H2 included but switched off.

It is only a minor update to switch on 25H2 via an enablement package.

Also download the 24H2 iso, in case you choose to later clean install (or manually upgrade).

re. drivers, I would do the update first, then Windows Update should sort drivers, but if not and if things work ok, you can choose to update later

Good Evening Folks, just a note about Windows 11 24H2 your PC CPU needs to have the SSE 4.2 Instruction Set before you install 24H2. If it doesn't have it it will not install at all. You can check your PC with CPU-Z. Cheers.

High End Old school system I picked up this year for $200.00 CA. It plays most average games without overclocking. Also some AAA Titles with the System optimized. Most time I run the GPU undervolted and reduced clock speeds and the Cpu at a reduced speed to keep gaming temps down. My average FPS are Between 60 and 85. Temps CPU 35 and GPU 40. Normal gaming settings CPU is Around 45 degrees C and the GPU is around 50 degrees C. FPS up to 85. V-sync turned Off. Games played are American Truck Simulator Plague Innocence and Plague Requiem Horizon Zero Dawn Balders Gate 3 DreamFall Chapters Final Cut. No gaming issues.
