Daily GameInput Reconfiguration


Same issue here on a new PC, newly fresh Windows 11 installation. Gameinput reconfiguration happening every day, sometimes even over 10 times per day in a row. What insanity is this!?

Apologies for necro-ing this thread, but I’ve started getting the same reliability monitor notification every reboot too. It says it’s reconfigured and yet nothing appears to change. This happens on every reboot.

Sorry, I can not give you an answer. This is an old, old problem for some (since 2023) and I don't think MS has ever done anything about it. (2 page thread here 2 years ago with no resolution)

There are reports about this event in forums all over the web. Many on Microsoft forum. This is just one. This old MS thread gives 4 pages of reading. Microsoft GameInput Application Reconfiguration Crashes Win 11 PC - Microsoft Q&A

For some this error crashes their system. For others, it just reported in reliability monitor as the process recovers. If you are not experiencing stalls and crashes. I'd be hesitant to pursue it.

May I suggest that you go to the feedback hub and enter a report.

I’ll send a report to the hub. I’m not experiencing any stability.

I do wonder if the original posters of this thread still have the issue to this day (without crashes).
