I recently upgraded to Windows 11, and was really disappointed to see that the default menu bars were still not properly adapted to dark mode. I appreciate that some native apps were adapted so nicely to dark mode with built-in menu bars (e.g. Notepad). But the basic menu bar (the one that has stayed the same since Win95) is still all-white. It is really surprising to me that this issue does not come up more frequently. Maybe I'm missing something here. But when you spend the entire day working on an app with white menu bar, it is not only unsightly but it also puts OLED displays at danger of burn-in.

It's also really tiring to hunt for custom themes that darken the menu bar color. Even if they do make it dark, the style adjustment frequently messes up with another application's color template, and makes that application unusable.

I guess this was more of a rant rather than a question, but at least let me ask this: What do you think? And is anyone aware of any roadmap or any plans to implement dark menu bars, or at least the ability to change the color of the menu bars?

Yep. It's Microsoft's half assed "dark theme". If you want actual dark mode, you'll have to use custom msstyles. I use Rectify11 ones. Works flawlessly across the entire OS and almost every 3rd party app (unless they decide to hardcode colors). Combined with MicaForEveryone you can even make it use Acrylic/Mica. As for when MS will do it right, I don't expect that in this decade. They have no idea what they're doing.

Great effect, can you share the specific modification steps? I don't know much about it, but I want you to have this effect.

    Windows 11,
Extract this to C:\Windows\Resources\Themes. Then run the ThemeTool as admin, click install button (on the right side), restart your PC, run the ThemeTool (as admin) again, select Dark or Black theme and click Patch and Apply. Dark works better if you don't want transparency. If you do want transparency, then use Dark Mica.
For transparency (with Dark Mica) you'll need to get MicaForEveryone. You can find a thread about it here.

Hello, awesome character. I use a professional software UI color is 68,68,68. I want to change the color of the system title bar to 68, 68, 68,. This question has been bothering me for a long time. Can you teach me how to change it? I appreciate it.
