If you search for align a sundial or similar, you'll find all the things that affect sundial accuracy [which can never be better than ±2 minutes anyway].

Here we go again. I hate this time change and have always.
I love this time of year ❤️

As the UK does not change until the last Sunday of the month, for this month only my Patch Tuesday starts an hour earlier

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

Phooey!

The most accurate sundial in the world is known as SINE SOLE SILEO, located high up on Muottas Muragl in Switzerland. This exceptional sundial can read time to an accuracy of an incredible 10 seconds1. It functions as a sundial during the summer and as an almost equally precise moondial in the winter.

    …still on a horse.
Here's a great link for checking if your PC clock is accurate. Time.is - exact time, any time zone

It may be out very slightly if you have high latency. Sometimes, when I check, my PC time is out by several seconds.
I checked my Notebook and got this:
Time.is - exact time, any time zone

Your clock is 2.7 seconds ahead.

Accuracy of synchronization was ±0.036 seconds.
Time in Buffalo, Wyoming, United States now:
07:35:43am

Did some math, my life span as of Dec. 28 is 44,150,400 seconds. Growing up on a farm having daylight was important, more after breakfast to get the work done.

As for Win 11 settings.... I just use the default web time source.

The most accurate sundial in the world is known as SINE SOLE SILEO

Yes.
I can see that it's effectively five sundials in one assembly & incorporates opposite-alignment pointer pairs to [I assume] diminish errors and that it produces several meter readings which [I assume] are then used in combination to measure the time.
It is extremely impressive.
It is not exactly the same as the pencil-in-the-lawn sundial I was thinking of.

All the best,
Denis

The most accurate sundial in the world is known as SINE SOLE SILEO, located high up on Muottas Muragl in Switzerland.
More than once I have been hiking on the Muottes Muragl, but in that time this sundial did not yet exist (was before 2012).
Murmeltiere (Marmots) I have seen there lots of, but they can be seen in other parts of Switzerland as well! ;-)

Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 13 years?
In this day and age, most of us are fortunate to have a PC (or similar device) with an accurate System Clock that not only keeps good time, but can do the DST change automatically. If memory serves, all 12 of my PC's do the automatic DST change thing.
But to make sure that my main PC's are Spot ON, I run a little FREE program called simply "Chronograph".
Then I set my Timex wrist watch off of my Main PC, then I use that to reset the rest of my 14 digital Clocks, four weather stations, and four timers. And, sometime in the next week, I'll reset the clock in my car.(x2)
Cheers Mates!

I like the radio linked wall clocks. They also self correct for DST.

Hmmm... why don't they call it... Daylight Losing Time, since we lost an hour?
Just another govt. lie I guess. :D

You only lose an hour if you die at a date so the number of days forwards exceeds number of days backwards by one.

Equally statistically just as many will be gain an hour over their lifetime.

So it is not the government lying per se. but those inconsiderate guys stealing one hour from you - shame on them.

Of course the government knows about this conspiracy but does nothing.

Of course, the government should take heavy sanctions on these guys taxing them at 100% for that hour gained so they can rebate it to those who had an hour stolen over their life.
