Delete Confirmation is missing the "Yes" button

Occasionally the "Yes" button will not load when I try to delete something. However, it does come back the moment I hover my mouse cursor over it. This doesn't happen every time, but it is annoying when it does. Is this normal for Windows 11? Anybody know why this happens and is there a fix for this?

Interesting. I have never seen that.

Have you tried right clicking the recycle bin and going to properties, and unchecking the show delete dialog box, applying and then restarting?

Then re-enable it?

You could also test in a new user account to see if the issue continues there as well.

No, I haven't tried that. But the thing is, it happens randomly, so it is very difficult to replicate it. I'll try doing that thing with the Recycle Bin properties though.

You may have a corrupt Recycle Bin. You can actually delete the Recycle Bin, Windows will re-create it next time you try to delete something. Use Option Nine here:

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    I've now clean installed 25H2 and used Garlin's scripts to update Secure Boot to CA 2023 and revoke the PCA 2011 certificates. It's new role is to test secure boot issues.

But usually when a Recycle Bin is corrupt it would mean that the files are stuck in there, right? I can delete, retrieve and empty the Recycle Bin without any issues. And as mentioned, the "Yes" button does come back immediately when I hover my mouse over that area, so I'm not sure it is actually corrupt.

If the DISM’s in that script don’t work, make sure you’re up to date with Windows Update. (Make sure anyway)

Yes exactly, I didn't think my Recycle Bin was corrupt at all because everything else seems to be working fine with it. I'll try to fill out everything when I have some time. But I am using an EVGA 3080 Ti. The driver is up to date, version 560.70. Does this mean that there could be something wrong with my GPU?

No, it's much more likely to be a bug in the driver. If you are on the latest one, then you could try rolling back to a previous one (if available) in Device Manager.

You could also see if changing the display resolution and/or scaling has any effect. Sometimes display 'oddities' like this only show at a particular scaling, with 100% being the least likely to have issues.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    I've now clean installed 25H2 and used Garlin's scripts to update Secure Boot to CA 2023 and revoke the PCA 2011 certificates. It's new role is to test secure boot issues.

Try to show full details in delete confirmations and see if that repopulates the Yes button. Just testing to see if it is a hiccup in that ui only it all related to recycle bin.

I was actually on an older driver just last week. The new version 560.70 just came out. I was having this issue on the previous driver and with this new one.

For scaling, I'm using 175%. This is what works best for me with my 4K monitor. Anything under that looks way too small. So I am hoping it is just a bug in the driver that can be fixed later on.

As mentioned, it comes back immediately when I hover over that area with my cursor. In fact, I think I can just click anywhere on my screen and the "Yes" button will come back.

There is no other button to show all details. There is only two buttons when deleting: yes and no. As you can see in the screenshot, there is nothing else.

Read the link I posted. Enable the full details view of the deletion confirmation. See if that shows the correct buttons on that extended ui.

Oh I see what you mean now. I completely missed your link. I will give this a try later on after testing the other stuff. I also seem to notice that it happens sometimes when I hit Win+D to show desktop and immediately deleting a file on the desktop. Maybe it's not loading fast enough after showing desktop? I don't know...
