My spare computer - a Dell Inspiron XPS 7590 running Win 11 X-Lite has problems connecting to a mapped network drive (on Asustor 6604T).
Using either directory opus or file explorer it will take up to 10 minutes before it will connect, once connected everything is ok.
Has anyone any ideas as to why the delay?
Thanks

In the hope of generating extra info on the problem, I suggest you create a shortcut to the same network folder using the standard shortcut notation
e.g.
\\TargetComputerName\TargetSharedFolder\TargetSubFolderWithinTheTargetSharedFolder
such as
\\TAB10\FurtherData\Recordings
Using such a shortcut should help to demonstrate whether the problem is one in network drive mapping or in network access itself.

Thanks Try3 I'll give it a go...
Result:
As is typical on the laptop startup it won't connect to the nas, I'll give it 10 mins and see if it works then. Creating a shortcut to the non connected nas doies not work either.

Since it's a NAS, I think it would also be worth checking equivalents [mapped drive, shortcut] to a shared folder on another network computer in order to further isolate the characteristics of the problem.
I'm not suggesting it's a NAS-related problem but it seems to me to be something worth checking.

Try3, i can access the nas without problem from my main computer, it's never a problem.
The mapped drive properties are identical.
Very frustrating.
The mapped drive is working at the moment and i have created a shortcut that works. I'll see how this behaves and whether i have any troubles.
Cheers
