Desktop app "Google Chrouser" accessing microphone (???)

I saw this in Settings > Privacy & security > Microphone, in the section enabled "Let desktop apps access your microphone":

I don't know what "Google Chrouser" is (pronounced "trouser"?), nothing is coming up on the internet for it. I can't even tell how it's using my mic, but I've been having a crapton of inconsistent mic audio issues in team meetings recently to the frustration of everyone (mostly with Zoom).

Anyway, the red text is gone now (says Last accessed date/time now), so what's the deal with this thing?

Uhhh... 😆 Like, what do I do if I don't find what "chrouser" is from an internet search? I don't know how to investigate it in Windows. That's why I posted here.

I guess "Chrouser" is a portmanteau of "Chrome" and "user"... still not sure what exactly it's doing though.

I think somehow the Google “browser” term has been corrupted. Chrouser —> Browser.
Or it’s a new thing they’re testing out made up of two words, Chrome & Browser —> Chrouser.

I’d go into device manager and disable the mic until you figure it out

1. What web browsers are you using? I assume you're using Google Chrome.
2. Have you run a FULL virus/malware scan with an up-to-date AV software on your computer since this issue arose? If not, I'd suggest doing that first.
3. Go into the installed apps list in Windows and check and see if they are any unusual apps installed.
4. As suggested above disconnect your microphone in the meantime.

If you don't know what Google Chrouser is, and Google doesn't know what it is, I would try to uninstall it... immediately.

And... run an AV scan as @Marcus Vinicus suggested.
And unplug or disable your mic as @dacrone said.
