I prefer not to even see onedrive appear on my computer anywhere.
Then uninstall it (use RevoUninstaller, including the advanced option to remove all leftover files/folders/registry entries).
Using Revo ...
- install
- Options tab > Uninstaller > untick Make system restore point > tick Check mark all leftovers by default > OK
- Find Microsoft Onedrive
- double click to uninstall
- DO NOT REBOOT EVEN IF PROMPTED
- select the Advanced radio button
- run and indiscriminately delete EVERYTHING offered, no picking and choosing
- when finished, reboot
Then go into MS Word > File menu > Account (bottom, lh column) > Manage settings > untick all options starting with "Experience .....
Then go into MS Word > File menu > Options > Save > untick Auto save files in the cloud etc > tick Save to computer by default > set the local path name
Settings should populate across products but check anyway, that Excel settings are similar.
