OMG it worked beautifully!!! That was easy, everything restored - emails, cutom folders!

On a side note, any way to do the same with my Outlook calendar? Not a real biggy if not I can just manually enter all my appointments.

Hmmm. For a calendar, first we'd need to know what calendar app, and if the calendar is tied to an email account, which one it is.

Then, we also need to see if the webmail version of the email address has a calendar feature.

sound like your OST got corrupted somehow. you could look into some ost recovery programs, if the calendar is worth it. the appts were most likely stored locally on your outlook desktop applications.

No, ost is the profile data file. He now has 2 ost files, but the one with the local calendar data is corrupted (I’m 90% sure that’s what caused this). You can use a sysinternals program to try and repair it. And they also have an ost to pst converter program.

I did something similar last week, and had a heckuva time getting my emails back. Luckily (although I hate OneDrive hijacking my stuff), they were all stored on OneDrive! Don't ask how I got them all back; to this day, I don't know what I did right.

@dacrone now that we know the email is, in fact, intact on the webmail server, I think it might be a good idea if @dburne were to go ahead and restore this Macium image so everything is exactly as he had it, rather than setting up the new profile completely making use of conversion programs and such.

Would you agree?

OK, sorry gang I am back. I am in poor health and had a sudden issue yesterday and I just kept going south rapidly had to get to the yard right away and then they transferred me afterwards over to the hospital here which I still am in. Looking like I will be able to go home tomorrow.

Anyway, as mentioned, everything is working, absolutely beautifully. Now that I know how to get everything back, I will try disabling one drive again because I really do not need it running.

Well unfortunately it is. That is ok though I am well prepared for what I know is coming soon.
Thank goodness for spell and grammer check in Office LOL which is part the problem I am having today.

I removed iCloud from my startup routine, had to do it with task manager as I do not see a way to turn it off in my Windows software. However nothing is showing in my startup now so don't know what is going there, but it still shows disabled and insists on starting with every boot.

Seems I got it now, have icloud removed from my system and no longer starts up of course. Will be testing shortly.

I may re-enable iCloud just so's it still has every thing there. Obviously in my case that would not happen.

One more question (of course).
Now here is where I run into issue due to my health - I start a thread and then as soon as I am ready to type - I will have no idea at times what I was going to say,

So going to be a minute, hang on... ;-)

Profile for my recently created new profile I named with a unique name,
Can I safely delete the orginal Profile or should I leave intact and just choose my custom profile each time ? It is stored with the name Profile. I have a suspicion I can delete it but would rather have confirmation here.

May as well leave it intact. Go back to control panel > mail > show profiles and set it to always launch with your new one. The drop-down will have all profiles it prompt each time to choose from.
