Just because this a great answer, don't stress out if your output doesn't look like this. Part of this thread is to raise awareness of the upcoming changes, and whether you should pay attention to future Windows changes which are scheduled for early next year.

The official instructions say to update the Boot Manager (since you don't want to ban the current CA 2011 Boot Manager while it's in place).

Now you can safely add CA 2011 to DBX (banning it).

After this point, you will have to "repair" the bootable Recovery drives by replacing the boot file, and making sure your Windows ISO is CA 2023 bootable. Or temporarily disable SecureBoot while booting off non-compliant media.

lets be honest here. does the average computer user even need secure boot . Other than being a extra level of security what else is it good for ?

Yes. You can disable secure boot to install. and repeated them. CA 2011 has not expired yet, so Microsoft has not yet released Windows 11 ISOs using CA 2023 certificates. I have the ability to create a Windows Install Media USB using CA 2023 certificate for clean install. After the installation is complete, the Boot Manager using CA 2023 certificate is preset.

As Microsoft still uses CA 2011 certificates, I only recommend that users with technical knowledge revoke CA 2011 certificates early.

UUP dump already supports the creation of CA 2023-compatible ISO's, all you have to do is to edit ConvertConfig.ini before running their execution script. You change "UpdtBootFiles=1".

This is within easy reach of less technical users.

The certificate can be updated through Windows Update.

In fact, if you are a user who has built computer motherboard in recent years, they already include CA 2023 certificates. Motherboard manufacturers have already pre-installed CA 2023 certificates on newly produced motherboards. However, motherboard manufacturers will not revoke CA 2011 certificates. We should follow Microsoft's revocation schedule.

I know. But it still has some issues to work out. And not everyone wants to download Windows ISOs from UUP dump.

The batch file is inside the ZIP, because Elevenforum's platform doesn't allow directly attaching .bat files.

In fact, if you are a user who has built computer motherboard in recent years, they already include CA 2023 certificates. Motherboard manufacturers have already pre-installed CA 2023 certificates on newly produced motherboards. However, motherboard manufacturers will not revoke CA 2011 certificates. We should follow Microsoft's revocation schedule.



I know. But it still has some issues to work out. And not everyone wants to download Windows ISOs from UUP dump.
