Solved Disable Realtek Digital Audio device from the available output devices in Windows

I'm not using Realtek Digital Audio. But coninuously pops up as default audio device in my system.
Especially so in combination with the opensource FxSound utility.
So, was looking to remove it.

I have found a number of posts googling for it. Lot's op posts about frustration around the inclarity of how to get that done.
Removing this device with Device manager does not get the job done.
Windows Settings/System/Sound under Output devices does not provide a way to disable it from the list.

The way to get it out of the way is:
In Settings/System/Sound under Advanced click on 'More sound settings'.
In the 'old' style window that opens, you can right click on the Realtek Digital Audio Device and disable it.
There can also be a 'Realtek Digital Audio 2' device listed here. DON'T disable this one. The system seems to need it to produce audio for the other enabled devices.

Now the Realtek Digital Device will not show up anymore in Windows as an available audio output device.

Just Right Click on the device in Device Manager and disable it.

Yeah, that's what I referred to as advice I found repeatedly on internet.
The problem for with that for me was that even if I removed them with the Device Manager, the Realtek Digital Output Device still kept popping up as a existing output device in Windows.
So, for my system, this was not the action that provided the result that I did acquire with the actions that I posted.

Thank you. This is exactly what I just came here looking for.

Mine even has my secondary monitor listed. My secondary monitor is a 19" VGA monitor with no speakers /facepalm
