If you add "/limitaccess" then it won't attempt to check source files provided by Windows Update, and only use the local WIM/ESD file.

That's great. I was miffed that the several WU-related services,
which I had stopped before running that DISM,
started and continued to run.
Now I will stop them again,
and run DISM again,
this time adding /limitaccess .

That's because the typical home user doesn't have a copy of a Windows image sitting around, so WU tries to download a temporary copy of files. It works, but you hear stories of how it took half an hour to finish.

Among my .iso files I found one that I had named 24H2. Because its date is close to that of my standalone install.wim file,

Ideally you need a repair image that's equal in version or later than your current Windows. My suggestion would be to use UUP dump, and search for 22631.nnnn (where nnnn is the exact build as reported by WinVer).
UUP dump will create a ZIP file, which you extract and run the CMD script inside. This script will download MS update files and re-assemble a patched version of Windows ISO which matches your requested build. You can do a repair install with it.

You didn't anything silly like mess with the C:\Windows\WinSxS folder? At this point, I would backup your system and use Rufus to convert the ISO to a bootable USB drive, and do a repair install of Windows.
