Solved Do NOT save to onedrive -- how

I should just get rid of one drive but probably too much stuff there. Going forward, how do I change the save function NOT to go to one drive. It is so pushy!! Thanks.

I find 1D vexing. I love the idea of a synced cloud drive, but hate that no matter what, MSFT prefers the cloud to my hard drive. I spend a lot of time offline, and version control can get really problematic.

The tech bruhs have explained to me why it's "better" but they are also online-always people who seemingly can't fathom why I would ever be in airplane mode. Even on, um, airplanes.

I've removed it from my computers, prefer the NAS drive attached to my Router and can access storage on it in a folder I have mapped on computers regardless of whether using Wired or Wireless connections on my LAN. I have no need to access the files from remote areas, don't travel for work.

Open an MS Office program (pref. Word) > File menu > Account > Manage settings > untick everything, especially anything about "Connected experiences"

Makes no never mind. You're using an MS product, online/offline/upline/downline, they'll get their hooks into you. You have an MS account that you're signed into, that's all they need.
