Do you think software / websites are getting worse?

I deal with the bloated web sites that contain a thousand elements per page.
And, what's happened to the "Search Engines"? I do a search for "Low Profile USB Cards" and get thousands of replies of FULL HEIGHT cards. Not even ONE low profile card! Cheech!

And my 40 year favorite web site blunder, is the ones where I go to just PAY MONEY, and I can't get past their page demanding my Cell Phone Number, and I don't even have no stinkin' cell phone.
Then I have to call the company and make my payment to a person, who then charges me a fee for that privilege.
Month after month, same old crap, and no matter how much I scream, yell and stomp my feet, they won't fix it.

Yeah I wouldn't know it just say xenforo at the bottom of pages but yeah they did poke the pooch hehe

You've paid for the hosting -- it's YOUR business and should be 100% under your control. Nothing wrong with accepting suggestions but that should not be "un-solicited" comments from the Host provider.

The kicker is that Google does not do my hosting. I use another hosting company for the site.
This is just, yes, unsolicited 'advice' from Google. Just because I have a business listing in their 'yellow pages' promotional service.

I'm not even going to mention any sophisticated issues, I'll be talking about basics. Websites are getting worse, a lot worse in my experience. Half of them don't work as well on the phone. I often rant about this, but really it is not that difficult to optimize your site for all screens! Some have a QR code, but guess what - you scan it and nothing happens. Weirdly enough, I got a QRCG recommendation from my aunt. My aunt. She's 58 and not really into tech stuff, but it takes a click to create one that works and it's free. When I last visited, I scanned it and got access to her Wi-Fi, I mean what are we talking about. I don't understand this trend, it's utterly annoying. This is not even cutting corners, it's...I don't know. I don't know.

Software design or UI of websites? Amazon Video site has gotten worse in my view. Everytime you side scroll if you pause the film/show thumbnail has to blowup and start preview. That is insanely annoying when you just want to scan quickly and read the quick synopsis. Or Apples own website with their annoying scrolling animations. That is insanely annoying as well. I want to read about it not be distracted with a moving animation trying to figure out where the text I'd like to read is landing after the animation finishes. JHC.

I am tired of chat-bots.
Every service provider has them and many have no human support (unless you are very, very persistent).
These bots can't answer the simplest of technical questions, but they can help you spend more money.

Rant #3:
The pop up that asks you to rate a website about 5 seconds after you've arrived.
If I could find what I want and complete my mission in 5 seconds on their website then.... maybe.
