Do you use 7zip, or Winrar?

Personally a user of WinRAR as I find it less cluttered in the context menu and more intuative.

I think winrar is my best software buy ever, I bought it in 2009 and it's been on every one of my machines since then.

It is a program required for most people in my opinion. (I guess 7-zip does fufill the requirements, however.)

I've never liked 7zip, the interface looks terrible.

Agreed. As I said in my original post; I find WinRAR less cluttered in the context menu and more intuative.

I don't have to deal with a lot of zip files, so 7Zip does what I need.

I just use what's built into Windows.

7Zip is all I have used since 2015 - although I was a user and still have winrar...

Nanazip, because it was the first one to be integrated into the new Windows 11 shell.
But I would prefer WinRAR, it has more features, like creating SFX with a custom path.

Got started with PK-Zip back with first computer in '92, got into WinZip after Win95 for it's ability to create self-extracting .exe files I was tasked with. I have several computers and also have WinRAR and 7-Zip on some. I seem to accumulate software as I get what is needed for whatever I'm working on, mostly free.

7Zip usually, but now just stick with the built in tools in Windows.

Windows built-in capability for plain zip/unzip, plus PeaZip which has all the functionality of 7-Zip, but a more 'modern' appearance/interface. Cross-platform (Windows, Linux and macOS).

I use both = other

PeaZip, but it's based on 7Zip and few others (PeaZip is basically a front-end for 7-Zip, p7zip, Brotli, FreeArc, PAQ, PEA, Zstandard open source file) - so technically... it's still 7Zip to a large extent - with a different interface and extensive archives compatibility (supports over 200 archive formats).

but, I like fooling around with PeaZip every once in a while..., it does everything, it's darn near a file manager in itself!

WinRAR

I've been using WinZip since Windows 95. Currently using WinZip 20.5 Pro, which was released around 2017. It still works in Windows 11.

I prefer PeaZip too.
