All ours are also on Build 26100.4351 with no problems. We didn't have a problem with the original patch Tuesday build either as we don't play games.

I got both of the updates through Windows update. My wife got both updates though Windows Update, My wife does not even game, but she goth them anyway. It is my understanding by reading the release notes that everyone got both.

I and many others never got the first one. Several machines had a hold placed on them.

The OOB 4351 update is not mandatory, it is offered as an optional update. The only one on which I installed it was the one that was apparently 'identified as having a compatibility issue' so was not offered 4349.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro.

Sorry Bree but it was not offered as an optional update to me or my wife's Laptop, It really does not matter as everything works.🤷‍♂️

I have settled with Canary, because it is the most stable release, fixed ASAP, unlike "stable" buggy version.

I've built all my desktop PCs since about 1995. My main gets updated every 18-24 months and replaced parts passed down the line, so I always have a couple of extra boxes on hand to use for Insider channels. My work and Insider (Dev & Beta) computers are never combined.

On my two laptops I manually choose in Windows Update to let it download and install Preview Releases. For anything that relates to production work, I don't actually even touch the Windows OS, let alone use it...

I stopped using the Canary builds as my daily OS on my main computer and went with the release version of 24H2. The reason why is because it became boring and not because of problems. I still use the Canary builds as the only OS on my old desktop and my laptop. I'm not sure why you had to do a full reinstall to fix a problem unless you didn't have backup images. I never had a problem that rolling back with my Macrium image and waiting for the next release didn't fix.

IMO all version of Windows have a possibility to fail when they get updated. In other words, no matter what version of Windows someone is running, without backups their taking unneccasary risks.

After reading your post I decided to run Winver to make sure Windows was up to date. I found that it was still on 26100.4349. When I checked WU I had to click on download and install for the latest CU.

I use Macrium Reflect X and perform a backup on a daily basis. I stopped using Insider Builds after 10 years in that program. I just at this time in my life be a user.👍
