When I try to instal the Windows 11, version 24H2 (repair version) I get a Download error 0x8000ffff. I tried the Windows Update troubleshooter, but it does not find any issues. Could you please help me resolve this?

From an administrative command prompt or PowerShell, run DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth.

A reboot isn't always required after doing so, but I think it's a good idea. After the restart, open another administrative command prompt or PowerShell, and run sfc /scannow.

Also make sure the following services are not disabled: Windows Update (manual, trigger start is fine), Background Intelligent Transfer Service (manual start is fine), and Cryptographic Services (automatic, trigger start).

Thank you for the quick response @pseymour. Unfortunately, this did not resolve the issue. The screenshots are after running
Code:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
. I still get the download error for the windows update (repair version).

If it were my machine, I'd move right to running a repair setup with the ISO, but you're using the IoT edition for some reason.

We'll see if anyone else has other suggestions.

By the way, 0x8000FFFF means "catastrophic failure," so congrats on that one. ;-)

Did you purchase the Windows 11 IoT Enterprise version for a particular reason? The website below lists some of the differences for that version and they are quit different from standard and pro editions.

Yes, we purchased it particularly for a research project of 3 years which required a stable OS without many changes of features or other updates so that the system can run for a long time without having to change our configurations.
