This tutorial will show you how to download an official Windows Server or Windows 11 64-bit or ARM64 ISO file from Microsoft.

Microsoft provides ISO files for Windows Server and Windows 11 to download. You can use these ISO files to clean install or in-place upgrade Windows 11.


The Flight Hub can also help you keep updated on which Windows 11 builds have an ISO available.

Option One

Download Latest Windows 11 64-bit ISO using Media Creation Tool (MCT)


This will be for a Windows 11 Version 25H2 build 26200.8653 ISO file with install.esd.


1 Click/tap on the Download button below, and click/tap on the Download Now button at Microsoft's site for Create Windows 11 Installation Media. (see screenshot below)

2 Save the mediacreationtool.exe file version 10.0.26100.7019 to your desktop, and run it.

3 If prompted by UAC, click/tap on Yes.

4 Click/tap on Accept for the license terms. (see screenshot below)

5 Uncheck the Use the recommended options for this PC box. (see screenshot below)

Leaving the Use the recommended options for this PC box checked will have the Media Creation Tool download an ISO that's the same language, edition, and architecture as the current PC.

6 Select the Language and Edition you want for the ISO file, and click/tap on Next. (see screenshot below)

The Windows 11 option includes both the Home and Pro editions. The product key you enter during installation (Windows Setup) is what determines which edition gets installed.

Your digital license or product key determines if Home or Pro gets installed during Windows Setup.

If you skip entering a product key during Windows Setup, then you will be prompted to select to install the Home or Pro edition.

7 Select (dot) ISO file, and click/tap on Next. (see screenshot below)

8 Select where you would like to save the ISO file to, type in a name you want for the ISO file, and click/tap on Save. (see screenshot below)

9 The Windows 11 ISO file will now begin to download. (see screenshot below)

10 When the download has finished, click/tap on the link where you selected to save the ISO file at to open that location, and click/tap on Finish. (see screenshot below)

Option Two

Download Windows 11 64-bit or ARM64 ISO from Microsoft


This will be for a Windows 11 Version 25H2 build 26200.8037 ISO file with install.wim.


1 Click/tap on the Download button below for the 64-bit or ARM64 ISO you want to download.

2 Perform the appropriate action below for 64-bit or ARM64: (see screenshots below)
  • Select Windows 11 (multi-edition ISO for x64 devices) in the Download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO) for x64 devices drop menu, and click/tap on Confirm
  • Select Windows 11 (multi-edition ISO for Arm64) in the drop menu, and click/tap on Download Now.

Hi,
Earlier this morning I tried to download the latest windows 11 64-bit canary insider version ISO and at least so far I keep receiving an error message that prevents me from download the ISO that I'm wanting to install. My computer is a activated approved computer so I'm really wonder while I'm unable to perform this download in a 'normal' method.

Are you using a VPN or browser extension that could be causing an issue with this?

Hi Brink,
It's been a long time since I've spoken with you, as far as the error message is concerned I didn't see a error number of any kind and the biggest issue is that I forgot to capture a screenshot of that page. Being honest I currently have a migraine and I can't even think straight so I need to lay down for a bit and see if I can get my headache to go away before I attempt to try anything else. Happy New Year, thanks so much for this great message board and your valuable time spent in trying to help people.

More detailed update from Azure:
Impact Statement: Starting at 08:00 UTC on 07 February 2026, a subset of customers using Azure services in the West US region may experience intermittent service unavailability or delays in monitoring and log data for some resources hosted in the affected datacenter areas. Impacted customers may observe degraded performance or delayed telemetry as services continue to recover.

Current Status: Earlier today, an unexpected interruption to utility power at one of our West US datacenters resulted in a loss of power to parts of the facility. Backup power systems were automatically activated, and power has since been stabilized across the affected areas.

To ensure service stability, engineers are validating and gradually rebalancing traffic through Azure’s software load balancing layer. Services are being restored in phases as health checks complete. We continue to closely monitor service health and performance and will provide updates as recovery progresses. The next update will be provided within 60 minutes, or as events warrant.

Using your script, the MCT iso is now 26200.7840. I'm downloading it now. For the past few months, it appears the MCT iso has been updated a few days after the Patch Tuesday updates.

It's weird, MS has never stated what's their official policy is on updating MCT images. But it appears they've switched to every month since after 25H2 shipped.

I'm wondering if it's related to Secure Boot. Typically MS updates the image because there is some critical update (or fix) they want everyone to have, and allowing someone to use an out-of-date build is a bad risk.
