The first time I try to open my downloads folder after sign-on it takes too long to load. I am running an SSD with plenty of space and 24GB of RAM. This has been happening on the last few builds. I have searched for all the remedies, the most recommended is to make sure you have the Downloads folder set to "General Items" in folder properties. Still no joy.......Any help is appreciated.

I don't know if this will help, but... I've found that on folders with lots of stuff inside, the fewer the column headings, the faster they open. I try to keep the columns at four or less.

Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 15 years?
I looked at the columns and there was 4 so I turned off File Size. Seems to have helped. Marking this as Solved unless it comes back. Thanks for the info!
