Hi,

You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard, so :

You need Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) from the first post of this thread.

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

Hardware manufacturers have hundreds, if not thousands of different motherboards, so they concentrate only on the ones from the last couple of years or few generations.
Also you really only need to update a driver when a security vulnerability has been found.

The best example is when MoKiChU posts the latest Intel ME firmware updates(I strongly recommend you subscribe to MoKiChU's thread for your boards ME Firmware and MEI).

Hi MoKiChU, just managed to find this thread. I've been having issues with my B550-A Gaming motherboard and the audio driver, as in, the drivers they offer on the official website are good, but they lack loudness equalization, which is a must for me. I've tried installing some other RealTek driver which is doing OK, but my microphone is really low. Would you be able to suggest which of your drivers would work, please?

Thank you.

I'm sorry to ask for this stupid question, but I don't understand the difference between the mutliple audio drivers for Realtek Audio Drivers.
I've seen some fresh drivers for fresh motherboards, but for my Asus Extreme Omega VI, I still doesn't found the answer for the right drivers please.
Help would be really appreciated.

Sorry, I don't offer audio drivers packages for ASRock in order to focus on my field : ASUS DIY PC/Motherboards.

Please refer to your product support page to download the appropriate drivers for your product.

You can determine for yourself which drivers package does your motherboard need thanks to these indications :

First, the hardware requirements, in order to be in the right thread :

[DRIVERS] Realtek USB Audio (AMD 5xx/6xx/TRX40 & Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx)
Hardware requirements (AMD - AM4/AM5) : ASUS ROG motherboards with AMD 5xx/6xx series chipsets with ALC40xx codec.
Hardware requirements (AMD - sTRX4) : ASUS ROG/PRIME motherboards with AMD TRX40 chipset.
Hardware requirements (Intel) : ASUS ROG motherboards with Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx series chipsets with ALC40xx codec.

[DRIVERS] Realtek Audio (AMD 3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx & Intel 2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/7xx)
Hardware requirements (AMD) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME/ProArt motherboards with AMD 3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx series chipsets (except ROG with ALC40xx).
Hardware requirements (Intel) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME/ProArt motherboards with Intel 2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/7xx series chipsets (except ROG with ALC40xx).

[DRIVERS] Realtek Audio (AMD Legacy 6xx/7xx/8xx/9xx & Intel 6x/7x/8x/9x/1xx)
Hardware requirements (AMD) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME motherboards with AMD Legacy 6xx/7xx/8xx/9xx series chipsets.
Hardware requirements (Intel) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME motherboards with Intel 6x/7x/8x/9x/1xx series chipsets.

Second, the drivers package type :
Note : In order to know which drivers package to use, match the audio specifications of your motherboard with the apps or ask me.
So, if in your motherboards specs you see the words :

- Sonic Studio & DTS Sound Unbound : You have an ASUS ROG SS|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard
- Sonic Studio III & DTS Sound Unbound : You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard
- Sonic Studio III : You have an ASUS ROG SS3 motherboard
- Sonic Studio II : You have an ASUS ROG SS2 motherboard
- Sonic Studio I : You have an ASUS ROG SS1 motherboard
- Sound Blaster X-Fi MB2 : You have an ASUS ROG Sound Blaster X-Fi MB2 motherboard
- DTS:X Ultra : You have an ASUS TUF/PRIME DTS:X Ultra motherboard
- DTS Audio Processing : You have an ASUS TUF/PRIME DTS Audio Processing motherboard
- DTS Headphone:X v1 : You have an ASUS TUF/PRIME DTS Headphone:X v1 motherboard
- DTS Custom : You have an ASUS TUF/PRIME DTS Custom motherboard
- DTS Studio Sound : You have an ASUS TUF/PRIME DTS Studio Sound motherboard
- None of the previous words : You have an ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME/ProArt Realtek motherboard

Hello! I have a ROG STRIX X570-F GAMING board and the latest (?) 6.0.9411.1 Realtek drivers. Some time in the past few days the speaker fill option vanished and I'm stuck getting sounds only out of my front 2 speakers (5.1 system). I have spent hours searching and trying different things but nothing seems to do the trick. All the speakers work when setting up the surround sound, but music players and games refuse to use the back speakers like they've done before. Any hints what I can do to get it working again?
Thanks!

I have the PRIME Z690-P and want to update the Realtek audio driver to the latest one but no idea which one to download! My current Realtek audio driver installed from ASUS motherboard website is 6.0.9088.1

I assume its not the most up to date Realtek audio driver. It appears the latest one on ASUS website is actually now driver 6.0.9350.1 however the drivers on this thread say 6.0.9450.1 so it seems the drivers provided by the master MoKiChU is the latest!

can someone let me know which Realtek audio driver to update from this thread please?

To fix SS3 TIMEOUT issue, follow this :

- Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process
- Use this SS3 Cleaner tool (Right click on "A-Volute_SS3_Cleanup.exe" > Run as administrator) then restart your PC
- Follow scrupulously your INSTALL process

For the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

Also, since you have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard, the configuration of the Upmix / Surround must be done via Sonic Studio III (SS3) and/or DTS Sound Unbound :

SS3 : Sonic Studio > Basic Mode :

Sonic Studio Effects : On
Upmix / Surround : Checked

DTS Sound Unbound : DTS Headphone:X > Enable DTS Headphone:X > Configure > Click on the 3 dots (...) and type the reference of your audio equipment :

- If you find your audio equipment select it.
- If you don't find your audio equipment :

If you use earphones : Choose the earphones icon
If you use headphone/headset : Choose the headset icon
If you use speakers : Choose the crossed headset icon

Question, I have a Maximus XI Hero wifi and all of the info on asus webpage referencing the features of the codec dac etc, point to these things being utilized through the front case jack. It never explicitly says these things dont work on the rear jack but it also only mentions the front jack in the descriptions of the features. Should my audio output be plugged into the front port exclusively for stereo headphones? Also, thanks for all the work you guys do!

It's best to plug into the motherboard directly at the back for the best signal strength and sound quality.
