OS
Windows 11 Pro + Win11 Canary VM.
Today, I carelessly wiped a data partition. I tried to recover the complete partition but it failed for some unknown reason.

I did have a Macrium Reflect backup, but it was about three months old. None of this data was critical but useful, and I have been a bit lazy in backing up this partition.

Importantly, I have not written anything to this partition.

I have a copy of Easeus Data Recovery Wizard (paid version), so I thought I would give that a go, first before restoring older Reflect image.

I was really impressed as it recovered everything, as far as I can tell (to a different drive), and was very quick - about 5 minutes for 70GB.
More importantly, it recovered files into folders (with same name as original).

After that, I just reformatted the partition and copied folders back.

I always used Recuva before but it never worked as slickly as Easeus.

It just proves, sometimes it is worth buying a tool rather than use free versions!
