Edge opening window --want to get rid of all the junk

Hi folks

Just as I was beginning to think Edge was improving as a browser Ms seems to have hosed it up on the DEV release. It opens with all sorts of News / weather stuff on it and there seems to be no way of just getting back to the plain vanilla enter URL / serach etc.

Switching back to Firefox again.

Only Ms seem to have the knack of destroying a piece of software again after making it "reasonably useful".

If I'm doing a serach for something I don't want to know about the state of the stock market in Vanutu, the weather in the Solomon Islands, riots on the streets of france etc etc. There's plenty of better sites for those such as BBC, Deutsche Welle, CNN, SKY news etc etc.

EDGE started showing microsoft start for every new tab with a huge page of political news stories, cant change it

I want my old Bing start page back. How do I do it. Every time I hit new tab, I see this stuff/ I used to see a noce background image of some nature scene! I did nothing to change this, it did it on its own

Same issue here, I forced it to use a different home page, one of my choosing by using an edge extension. And using customization options you can eliminate all news feeds on that Bing.com page too.

I use Edge and I'm not seeing anything like you're describing. But then I never use beta (DEV) software. I switched from Chrome to Edge (Chromium) several years ago and would never go back to Chrome.
