I just noticed an update for edge to Version 96.0.1054.41. I guess most of you have it already, I only noticed this morning

Not sure if it makes any difference, but in Win 10, the latest Edge Stable is 96.0.1054.41.

The one you referenced above is a few days old.

That's what mine updated to but you are right that is the latest it just updated again to .41 thanks for pointing that out

Edge updated today to 107.0.1418.35, and now the Process called "Utility: Network Service" keeps using/not-using CPU, causing the little blue "busy" indicator to come on for a split second, every 2 seconds, right next to wherever my mouse is sitting on the desktop. Very annoying. When I disconnect from the internet, the little busy indicator stops and so does the "Network Service" usage of my CPU (of course).

The latest version of MS Edge is the culprit. It's the only thing that updated today, and expanding that process in task manager shows the continual Network Service activity.

Maybe I'll just download and use the BETA version of Edge, or the FireFox browser. It's been on my computers as a back-up for over 15 years.

Anyway, just posting this new development, in case anyone else notices weird behavior in their cursor/pointer all of a sudden.

No problems here, but I have disabled all "smart" features in Edge. Like:
