This tutorial will show you how to enable or disable the Collections feature in Microsoft Edge for your account or all users in Windows 10 and Windows 11.
Collections in Microsoft Edge helps you keep track of your ideas on the web, whether you're shopping, planning a trip, collecting notes for research or lesson plans, or just want to pick up where you left off the last time you were browsing the internet. Whatever you're doing on the web, Collections can help.
Collections syncs across your signed-in devices, so if you use Microsoft Edge on multiple devices, your collections will always be up to date on all of them.
If wanted, you can disable the Collections feature in Microsoft Edge for only your account or all users on the PC.
Starting with Microsoft Edge version 149.0.4022.52, Collections have been removed in this update. Users can no longer access or use the feature. To keep saved content, users can export it, or move all pages to Favorites before updating to Microsoft Edge Stable 149.
Both AAD users and MSA users can still view and access Collections through Edge (Settings and more); but only MSA users can see their previously saved collections at Collections.

Organize your ideas with Collections in Microsoft Edge | Microsoft Support
- Option One: Turn On or Off Collections in Microsoft Edge for Current User from Settings
- Option Two: Enable or Disable Collections in Microsoft Edge for All Users using REG file
EXAMPLE: Collections in Microsoft Edge
1 Open Microsoft Edge.
2 Click/tap on the Setting and more (Alt+F) 3 dots button, and click/tap on Settings. (see screenshot below)
3 Click/tap on Privacy, search, and services in the left pane, and click/tap on Search and connected experiences in the right pane. (see screenshot below)
If you do not see a left pane, then either click/tap on the 3 bars menu button towards the top left OR widen the horizontal borders of the Microsoft Edge window until you do.
4 Turn on (default) or off Save content using Collections in Microsoft Edge for what you want. (see screenshot below)
5 Click/tap on Restart to apply. (see screenshot below)
6 You can now close the Settings tab if you like.
You must be signed in as an administrator to use this option.
This option uses the EdgeCollectionsEnabled policy for Microsoft Edge.
1 Do step 2 (enable) or step 3 (disable) below for what you want.
This is the default setting to allow using Option One.
(Contents of REG file for reference)
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge]
"EdgeCollectionsEnabled"=-
This will override Option One.
(Contents of REG file for reference)
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge]
"EdgeCollectionsEnabled"=dword:00000000
4 Save the .reg file to your desktop.
5 If you have Smart App Control turned on, you will need to unblock the downloaded REG file.
6 Double click/tap on the downloaded .reg file to merge it.
7 When prompted, click/tap on Run, Yes (UAC), Yes, and OK to approve the merge.
8 If Microsoft Edge is currently open, then close and reopen Microsoft Edge to apply.
9 You can now delete the downloaded .reg file if you like.
That's it,
Shawn Brink
