Hi im new to this site and I wanna see if someone had this error before or someone was able solve it because I can't.
The error occurs when I try to install apps from the store, also using the stand alone method doesn't work, the appx installer gives the same error:
"error 0x80070005: While processing the request, the system failed to register the windows.firewall extension due to the following error: Access is denied."
Obviously tried disabling windows firewall and all that but the result is the same.

Sry for the late response, I tried all you have mentioned and none of that worked, the 2nd step throw a bunch of firewall error permissions (the same as the store) and some apps already in use cannot be stopped. The 3rd and 4th didn't do anything.
I was thinking maybe the problem could be windows 23h2? Because the store was working fine a while ago, and just a month ago or so I forced install 23H2 Update following the guide included in this forum, and im suspecting that messed up all my windows install. In that case do you recommend clean install, or your last suggestion doesn't require wipe out and is a better alternative?

Definitely try a repair install before wiping everything with a clean install.

Just had the same issue.
It happened after I changed my system's display language and after restoring an Aomei Backupper image.

Nothing else worked and I was about to reinstall windows from 0 but stumbled with an answers perhaps in reddit (can't really remember) that pointed me in the right direction.

It was a permissions issue.

What worked for me was the 5th item in this makeuseof tutorial

I quote it here if it ever changes address or is deleted

5. Change the Package Folder Permissions

If the Microsoft Store does not have the required permission to write into the Package folder, you will most likely face the issue. You will have to change some specific permissions to resolve the problem.

Here's how to do it.

  1. Open the File Explorer.
  2. Navigate to C: > Users > YourProfileName > AppData.
  3. Choose Local.
  4. Locate and right-click on the Packages folder.
  5. Choose Properties from the context menu.

  1. Switch to the Security tab, and click on Advanced.
  2. Make sure all the users have full control access.
    Package folder Advanced security settings
  3. If not, click on Add.
  4. Click on Select a principal.
    Permission entry for package
  5. Type users in the Enter the object name to select box, and click on OK.
  6. Checkmark the Full controlbox.
    Package folder Full Control checkbox
  7. Click on OK to save the changes.

That's it. Try to download an application and check if the problem is fixed or not.
