Error with opening registry key (Equalizer APO)

Hey.

Equalizer APO (program for audio tuning) crashed every time after i opend it. I tried to deleted my Windows registry key but it did not fix the problem. I then deleted more of the keys following a youtube totorial but now i have an erro massage.

The message says the following:
Error while opening registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\EqualizerAPO\Child APO's:
The system connot find the file specified.

Because of this problem i can't instal apo at all i am unable to sellect a divice for my input (for examble: speakers Realtek(R) Audio.

Could you help me with this?

Hello @victordesmet and welcome to ElevenForum.

The error message you're getting is telling you that registry key is missing.
I'm guessing you deleted it?

Using System Restore to go back to before you started deleting registry keys, may solve this current problem.


On a side note: It's always a good idea to backup the areas in the registry you intend to edit... BEFORE you start editing them.
You can right click, just about anything in the registry and choose: Export. This is how we backup registry keys.


Most of the regulars on these forums... that like to tweak things, use 3rd party backup software.
That way, if we break something, we can just restore from a backup.
For future reference...
