Did you look at Thunderbird? FWIW, I doubt Eudora will even interface with many modern email hosts, many security changes have taken place since Eudora development ceased.

I am using Thunderbird on two of my laptops but I am not good at organizing my mail.

I would like to try something else for the rest of my laptops. You may be right about Eudora. It is a pretty old email client software. Any suggestions about other email clients?

It's become a little annoying for it's visionary assault with all it's colourful flags, tags and bells and whistles, but that's all fully customisable. Once done, the settings file can be exported for use on future installations.

Another option, Mailbird although that's virtually just a Thunderbird clone/doppelganger

I don't go quite that crazy with organizing my email, but I do have several hundred folders for various people, companies, etc. For many of them, I have filters that automatically move the mail to the appropriate folders. I regularly empty my Inbox so that unfiltered mail is easy to deal with each day.

There are tons of email clients floating around, I looked years ago and settled on Thunderbird. It's served my purposes well over the years, so I haven't been looking for new options.

I believe in the credo: Don't fix stuff that ain't broke!

Good choice. I use it too.

For me, I prefer to try out other email clients as well. I have 6 laptops with No 7 on the way. Variety is the spice of life. I don’t want to install Thunderbird on all of them no matter how good it is. Most of the time, I used mobile emailing (iPhone) anyway.

eMClient as a free version only supports 2 accounts. The one-time license for the paid version costs a whopping $60. So I will skip this one.

Spark only offers subscription mode. The free version is, however, good enough. You don’t get access to all the fancy AI features. But them I am not big on AI, so I don’t need them. I probably give the free version a spin.

The Bat. It has been around for ages. Yes, I will try it out for 30 days. I still have the license for an old version which I bought more than 10 years ago. I stopped using it a few years after that. The settings for The Bat are not easy to configure but this does not put me off. They have an upgrade offer and you get about 70% discount off the price if you have a previous version.

Like I said, I will try it out for a month and if I like it, I will take them up on the upgrade offer. It is not much. It is about $20 I guess.

So most probably it will be Thunderbird, The Bat and Spark for me.

eM Client is good but the free version only allows you to set up 2 accounts.

I was trying to set up The Bat on my Asus Gaming laptop running on Windows 8.1 platform. It was a disaster. Not only did I have to jump through several hoops and hurdles, the email client didn’t seem to be cooperating with me on this platform.

I am going to try the free version of Spark Email Client on my HP Ultra top tomorrow.

I just tested Spark. Not that good but better than The Bat.

The one that impressed me the most is eM Client. It is much better than Thunderbird. I think I will buy it.
My wife works for the university here. So if it is under her name, it will be a 30% discount.

I found the eM Client settings and data. They are stored in a database located in the
C:\Users\Peter\AppData\Roaming\eM Client folder on Windows.

The interface of course.

The different colors for the folders - Home, Important, Newsletter, Personal, Promotion, Work, etc.

Inbox, Keep - they are all colored.

And this what I like most! This email client software organizes everything for you. I hate organizing stuff like that. So if it is done so nicely for me, that's a bonus.

Now having said all that, it is just my own opinion. One man's meat is another man's poison!

Wild color schemes don't really do it for me, but as you say, whatever blows your hair back!

I can change the colors of folders in Thunderbird, just never had the inclination to.

That was the Mozilla version that is more or less just Thunderbird.
I tried it and it was not anything like Eudora.
Most likely why it failed to get any users.

Just these four simple steps to convert Eudora email to a PST file?! Wow, I wish I'd seen your post about 2 years ago. I spent I think about $60 for some conversion program did a really lousy job, and their support wasn't exacly great. In the end, I just gave up
