The trouble with all these "Office clones" is that they all seem to miss what is really an important piece of software -- an email client - whether outlook clone or other.

Thunderbird is a "semi OK" piece of software but it has quirks and whatever one might say about outlook - it's simple to use, just works, connects to any type of email server - IMAP, POP3, EXCHANGE, etc etc. and doesn't have limitations on the number of accounts etc etc that other paid software has.

DIdn't see in this link the reference to email. But Outlook is more than just email. It's also contacts, calendaring, and tasks.

IF IF IF someone made an open source equivalent including OST/PST importing, then I'm first in line. Until then it's Office 365

If you aren't aware of Proton Mail, it is a web-based, super secure email service that's been around for years. While it may not be as comprehensive as Outlook, for most people it is very adequate, and the addition of basic office apps makes it very attractive. With end to end encryption and and a commitment to privacy and security, it becomes even more attractive.

Downside is that you have to pay £40 a year to use the desktop app, have more than 3 folders and be able to receive more than 150 emails a day
