Problem
My external speaker (powered via USB, with a 3.5mm TRS jack for audio input) emits an electrical static noise whenever no audio is playing. The noise starts after roughly 2 to 5 seconds of inactivity and disappears immediately as soon as audio playback resumes.
Environment
* Operating System: Windows 11
* Device Type: Laptop
* Connection: USB (power) + 3.5mm TRS jack (audio input)
* Drivers Tested: Realtek audio drivers, latest Intel HD driver
Symptoms & Details
* Static noise begins after ~2 to 5 seconds of inactivity.
* Static stops instantly when audio playback resumes.
* The issue occurs regardless of whether the laptop is plugged into AC power or running on battery.
What I've Tried
* Switched drivers from Realtek to the latest Intel HD driver. It almost seemed to work yesterday, but the static noise returned today while still using the Intel driver.
* Re-changed drivers and restarted the laptop, but the static noise persists.
Is there a fix or setting adjustment (such as power management or driver configuration) to prevent this electrical static noise while idle?
Thanks!
