Yes, you should! All you have to do is follow Step By Step to the video. Although I am surprised that Berton hasn't jumped in. Or anyone else for that matter... Please let us know.

Hi thank you Lance1. Yay - It worked!

I wore two pairs of rubber gloves(!)

and although I didn't need to remove the battery, like in the video, I did remove the wires where he does in the video at 3:25... I saw that the LED light went out... waited the obligatory ten seconds (is it just Brits who do that? lol) and plugged it in again.

Then I was able to switch it on as normal! Fab.

I am hoping it behaves itself while I am away (I won't be messing with the Lid settings again!) And I will try the in-place upgrade in January.

PS yes it most likely has voided my warranty, but I have a sharpie to make the screws black again... And I was careful not to scratch the case ...Don't tell anyone!
