When I plugin my external drive to do a backup there are two D drives when there is only one. Both drives are label the same I have one internal drive? The backup with system image is successful but something has to be wrong with File Explorer showing incorrect information.
I have three laptops one is retired, one two years old and a brand new one, all reflect same information. Concern about it with upcoming new windows that could be the cause of some having issues with new Windows. I am not a gamer that having an external drive is normally enabled just when I do a backup

Hello Mickey, :alien:

Removable drives are shown as separate groups in the navigation pane of File Explorer by default in addition to being shown under the This PC group in the navigation pane.

You can use the method in the tutorial below to stop showing the duplicate one.

To add, anything showing in the Navigation pane above This PC is probably a shortcut to the actual location of files and folder, right-click any and choose Properties, will show the actual location of the item/s.

I suggest saving any information relating to changes as the next Version Upgrade and/or Build update may put things back to defaults and have to make the change again.
