File explorer not clearing in downloads

Can anyone tell me why my file explorer won't clear I use a piece of software called Mp3 tag and after editing the album I drag and drop into the artist folder. however when I go to downloads they are still there but when i click refresh they disappear. any ideas Please

Explorer not refreshing the view is a common issue that goes way back. You can find numerous "fixes" in this forum and many other places, but there is no single guaranteed fix. The problem may go away after doing a restart, a Windows repair or update, uninstalling some software you no longer use, creating a new user profile, etc. Or you may just have to get used to hitting F5. Sorry, I wish there were a better answer.

I just had that problem yesterday, after I restarted it was back to normal. This is Windows, a restart cures a bunch of issues, this is just one of them.

One of many fixes reported by members here is to Reset Folder Views

• Open File Explorer
• Click the three-dot menu in the toolbar and select Options
• In the Folder Options window, click Restore Defaults
  • This can clear any corrupted view settings

But as mentioned by Les, there have been many fixes reported. No rhyme or reason why some work for a percentage of people and not for others.
Personally, I find that time heals it. Go figure.
