I think 26120.xxx is the Dev channel and 26100.2033 is the regular channel. I'm on Release Preview and currently have 26100.2152.

I am also having this issue. Windows 11 24H2 26100.2033
No beta or dev channel here. No GUI modification software installed.
This has been driving me bonkers since I installed 24H2.
I would rather not do a clean install, so hoping this gets fixed one way or another!

I have two desktop computers running the Canary builds. On my new desktop I have the same problem as you. On my old desktop it opens downward. I have no clue why it's happening on one computer and not the other.

It has been a good computer. The only reason I bought a new desktop is because the CPU cooling fan died on my old one. I know it's a poor excuse but I was in the mood for a new computer and it was good enough for me to talk my wife into letting me buy a new desktop from Micro Center. Once it was too late to return the desktop I replaced the cooling fan and told her: hey hon, I got the old computer working again. ;-)

Don't bother with a clean install as the fix will only be corrected temporarily. Within a day or two it then reverts. Started with 1882 and continues with 2033 and 2152, and is also incurring in Dev builds. I suspect a Known Issue Roll-back of some sort is occurring.

My new Alienware R16 came with build 26100.2161. The problem with the upward opening when clicking on the 3 ... is just another bug that MS does not care about. 🤷‍♂️

I was really not that concerned about the 3 Dot issue, was wondering why Dell, an OEM would use 26100.2161 when it is listed as an Insider Build but I suppose others are getting it.

2161 was made available to all users as an optional update, so you don't need to be an insider to install it.
