Sometimes, after accessing a location, the File Explorer view isn't memorized but after pressing the F5, it returns to the one I set.

On the Toolbar did you try the 3 dots then Options then View tab to choose the left button about Apply to Folders? Just have the open File Explorer showing as desired. However there are times it doesn't always work such as when accessing from within a program such as Microsoft Office which doesn't give the same full view of File Explorer, some things not usable.

Yes, I did. I thought I didn't even need to do that but just click "Apply" and then "OK" or even just click "OK". Maybe it's a bug that will be fixed by a future update or it's caused by NTLite or/and Winaero Tweaker.

Also, when setting the view of File Explorer, I do it using the right click context menu and not the way you mentioned and when importing tweaks with Winaero Tweaker, it messes up the File Explorer view and I have to set it again for all locations.

The only thing I've got that does as desired is the old Windows 3.1 File Manager, click on a folder to read contents then close, reopen comes back to that folder. Win11's File Explorer is pretending to be E.T. and runs to Home in the Navigation Pane when closed then reopened.

So, you have issues with Windows 11's File Explorer too?

I don't call it an issue but it can get frustrating if needing to go back to the same thing in File Explorer frequently. It's not much different from Win10's File Explorer. The File, Open feature in a number of program is not the full-blown File Explorer so that operates differently.

At least, it looks like I don't have this problem if I apply the same view to all folders.

It looks like it doesn't work for other folders too and it's random. Maybe it's a bug.

I periodically have the same issue; started with Windows 11 21H2.

No sign of a 'fix' even though reported to MS.

I'm not sure if I even had or if I actually have this issue since it might be normal for Quick Access folders to not memorize the previously saved File Explorer view from a non-Quick Access location since they never do it and even if I separately change one of the Quick Access folders File Explorer view and apply it, the other Quick Access folders don't have it so each Quick Access folder must be separately set.

EDIT: IIRC, after applying a File Explorer view on a non-Quick Access folder, some non-Quick Access folders didn't have it so does that mean I have this issue after all?

Problems with automatic folder Refresh are commonplace and have been for over twenty years.
There has been no permanent solution for over twenty years either.

But I think you're talking about a different issue which consists in refreshing folders in order for deleted content to stop showing up or for new one to show up.

I just noticed Windows 11 sometimes is slow changing the timestamp in "Modified" after making changes to files and saving.
