How do you choose the order apps startup in Windows 11?

I want to try get certain apps to start quicker.

Hi.

Not an easy task, I recall there was a software that could accomodate it but for the moment cannot recall it. Maybe search for one?

Other than that, it could take a fair bit of mucking around but checking Task Scheduler for apps that you know start at Windows loading and add a start delay time in order of your priority could be an option?

In general, you can look in 'Event Viewer' for event 100. If it's "Warning", then everything is fine.

You can look in Services, and see if those apps are listed.
If any are, and they are set to Automatic (delayed start), you can change them to just... Automatic.

You can just type: Services in the Taskbar search box, to open Services.

You can't. Service Control Manager loads the services and windows core processes when windows starts and does so in phases because SCM knows the dependencies of each service involved in your windows installation. Many services will not load until all its dependent services has loaded. You can change the startup status of a service as was suggested, but SCM will still load its drivers and processes in the priority order SCM has defined.

Exactly what is the app are you wanting to start faster.

Note that those registry entries change the priority of the process once it is running, not the order in which it starts.

More often than not I remove software or apps that I have installed from startup and I create a task to start them with a delay to accommodate, which creates the load priority.
Some apps I delay for up to 10min (like freefilesync & Sharex) because Windows load on my old things is a little sluggish and as much as I’ll be using the apps sooner than later, they can still wait.
There are obviously variables though, especially with my PC as its slow.

But as glasskuter mentioned of course, it will have no effect on services beating the apps to start.
These days with newer PC’s I can hardly imagine it even matters?

Off topic about Tupperware, so sorry. I have only one of my colored TW tea glasses left (like the one SY used on Duck Dynasty). It goes everywhere with me. I've been known to drive 20 miles to where I left it.I even had someone ship it to me once when they found it. I still use TW containers I bought 40 years ago. It's so sad to see these pioneers of American industry fall by the wayside. Stuff was just made better back when.

I was able to order a set of their small cereal bowls from Amazon about two months ago.

@jaburmester You can add that program to your start up. press Windows+R and type shell:startup in the text box. The Startup folder will open. To add a program, right-click in the Startup folder and select New > Shortcut > Browse.

This is an Aussie written App. But it hasn’t listed Windows 11, however it does list Windows 10 as a compatible OS

I can only guess that because it works with 10, there is ever chance it will work with Windows 11.
From memory I used it back in Windows Eight days.

Startup Delayer gives you the power to optimize your Startup/Login process by delaying applications that usually start as soon as you log into your computer. Most of these applications aren't needed immediately, and needlessly slow down your login.

Here is a comparison between free & premium that will at least tell you what you can do with the free version.

Regardless, I don’t see that the Premium version is being sold anymore. I am unsure what that may mean.
