find the mouse cursor?

I have a setup with 3 UHD monitors, 2 of which are usually turned off. Finding the mouse cursor can be tricky, even with the ctl-key mouse-circling hack enabled, especially if the cursor is over on one of the turned-off monitors. Is there a quick way to force the cursor to jump to the center of the primary display?

Are you familiar with Nir Sofer's nircmd.exe? Sofer has a setcursor line that (I think) does what you want: it'll pull the mouse cursor to the position on your main screen that you specify with the X and Y numbers.

setcursor [X] [Y]​

Set the position of mouse cursor. The [X] and [Y] parameters specify the desired cursor position.
Example:
setcursor 100 50

JIC you can't find it (the site is a challenge at the best if times), here's the page for nircmd.exe, and the download link is waaaaay down at the bottom of the p[age.


I'd just write a Notepad file with the path to the exe and the word setcursor and two numbers, and save that as filename.bat.
Double-click it and see where the cursor goes, then adjust your parameters.

I got it working with this text:

@echo off
D:\AATemp\nircmd.exe setcursor 500 500
exit

Where my nircmd.exe is located in D:\AATemp, obviously.
Saved that text as Cursor.bat.
Made a shortcut to Cursor.bat, and set a custom "shortcut key" to Ctrl+Alt+downarrow in that shortcut.

Then when I want to put the cursor (wherever it may be) in that 500x500 position, I just have to hit the hotkey combination.

Should work for you.

The minor complication is that (of course) unless you set a hotkey combination, you'd have to find the cursor with your mouse and move it to the shortcut to launch the bat file. With the hotkey combo, it should just work.
