Finding wall papers confusing, my old wallpaper is a terrible quality and I cannot seem to choose a single wallpaper without having a slideshow.

Winver only gives me the build # for Windows 10

Then you are ON Windows 10. Winver doesn't make mistakes.

As for wallpapers... just set the desktop to a solid color. Then any picture you see, that you like... right click it and choose: Set image as Desktop background.

In Windows 10 and Windows 11, go to Settings > Personalization > Background
You'll see a drop down box, with three options... Picture, Solid Color, Slide Show

In Settings > Personalization > Background, you can also "Browse" to any pic on your computer.


Side note: I deleted all the MS wallpaper folders located in: C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper
Then I ran SFC. It found errors, and put those folders back. LOL

I had to take Ownership to be able to delete them anyway.

I found the background wallpaper in W11 dissapointing, and got no help from the tutorials. I eventually found some in Windows library in the MSstore. It was easier in W10. I like the picture to change every minute, but the frequency can be set to every day, and if you only put one picture in, it cannot change.
