Firefox is not saving cookies of gmail and asking password on restart

Hey guys,

It was saving cookies before but I have reinstalled the windows and its asking for password of gmail on every restart of firefox browser.

How to fix it ?

There is also a cookie saver in CCleaner if you use it. It could be that Gmail has decided to force refreshed cookies for security, Im not sure.

I mean that CCleaner has a cookie protector.

Any cookie's you add to the right side should stay protected. So if you have a logged in session, it should help to keep you logged in. This is why I use the cookie manager in the link above, it protects selected cookies and sessions, at least until the website forces you to re-establish a session.

Also, check Gmail’s settings to see if there is a “Stay logged in” option. I don’t use Gmail sorry so I am not aware.

1. Close your browser(s)
2. Run CCleaner, to clear all the cookies on the left side in: Options > Cookies
3. Close CCleaner and open Firefox and go straight to gmail and log in.
4. Open CCleaner to: Options > Cookies
5. The only cookies on the left side should be those for your gmail and login. Move them to the right side.

NOW.... gmail cookies should be saved.


For any site that you want to save the login for... just do the same thing, but substitute the new site for the word "gmail" in the steps above.

If you want to save the login cookies for a site like eleven forum.... just do the same steps above, for eleven forum instead of for gmail. :-)


Any time you reinstall Windows or CCLeaner, you'll have to do this for each site login that you want to save.
Don't forget to make a fresh backup of Windows, when you get all the cookies set properly in CCleaner.

If you don't, and for some reason need to restore from a backup....
all the saved, site login cookies will be lost in CCleaner.

Any time you reinstall Windows or CCLeaner, you'll have to do this for each site login that you want to save.
Don't forget to make a fresh backup of Windows, when you get all the cookies set properly in CCleaner.

If you don't, and for some reason need to restore from a backup....
all the saved, site login cookies will be lost in CCleaner.

The cookies may not "say" gmail.

That's why we run CCLeaner to clear all the cookies on the left side, then open Firefox and go straight to gmail and login.
Then close Firefox and open CCleaner again, and all the cookies on the left side will be from going to gmail and logging in.
It doesn't matter what they "say"... they have to be from gmail and logging in to gmail.
Move all those cookies to the right side.
Now Firefox should remember gmail and your login, even after you run CCleaner in the future.

Add google .ca or .com (depending on location) click allow & then Save Changes. Now it should stick.

The country should not matter as Google uses .com regardless of your country of origin.
This is in settings/Search Settings/Language & Region/Result region of the Google home page.
By selecting the region, you override the 'current region' default.
It will still be .com but with the region chosen.

Pakistan. and it dosent matter it can be google.com. Moreover, ccleaner settings

Edit: I have added google.com.pk and same. Furthermore, only gmail, youtube is asking for the credentials else other websites are not asking the credentials.
